Wow thanks for the great explanation! I kinda knew a little but now much
more
Is part 2 coming up?
great explanation…you’ve left us hanging…more!! and, thank you for this!
Hi Deidre. Not sure why you feel you were left hanging? Sorry you feel that
way. But we put some articles links in the description above that we hope
will fill in the gaps for you. Let us know and thanks for your interest.
It was such an awesome vid., Thank you again. I guess the conclusion for us
peri-men. ladies would be low-low carb AND low cal? I guess that is the
part I’m not too clear on…cuz just eating clean Paleo ain’t workin’ for
me 🙂
I follow almost everything here, thank you for this. I just dont quite
understand the phrase at 4:04 “remember estrogen makes you more insulin
sensitive or less carb reactive” > If someone is more insulin sensitive
doesn’t this make them more carb reactive?
If you are more insulin sensitive, you are less likely to have high insulin
levels and overactive fat storage. An insulin sensitive person needs less
insulin to do its job when carbs are eaten. Therefore you are less carb
reactive, meaning carbohydrates are less likely to cause fat storage or
slow fat release when you are insulin sensitive. If you are more insulin
resistant you need more insulin to do the job and therefore more likely to
be carb reactive.
Great info here, thanks. Just want to clear something with you tho…if we
are oestrogen and progesterone deficient during menopause what do yout
think about natural supplements? I was advised to do this and saw great
results but then I’m not sure if it was the new eating plan, the ME
training programme or the supplements or even all three!! I’ve since
stopped the oestrogen it was expensive and I wasn’t really happy about
swallowing these huge tablets every morning…..:-/
Great info, thank you.
What an incredibly helpful presentation – and from such an ‘unlikely
looking’ male too: (my experience has been that men just don’t care about
what women go through at this time of life.) Thank you!
Thank you for explaining why I’ve been struggling so hard lately. I thought
I was just not doing enough but now I know I’m fighting an uphill battle
and know how to attack the problem from a different angle. Appreciate it!
Yet before the agricultural boom of the Eighteenth century European
countryfolk lived on diets consisting of unrefined starches & sugers
(wholegrains & tubers, raw fruits) and unprocessed Vegetables, with but
small amounts of butter and animal flesh in low quantity compared to today.
This was not a Meat-Vegetable Diet but people were thin. Countryfolk in the
Seventeenth century and earlier were lean like the peasants in the China
Study before the Coca-Colonization of that Country. By the way I’m not
anti-meat (I’m a smoked salmon junkie), just questioning the Meat Fad of
today. Folks had more energy back then, even just fifty years ago!
Thank you for this information. This is really a big help for those who
didn’t know with the weight loss when women is.are in her menopausal stage.
Wow, thank you so much or explaining this so well. I have been in medical
menopause for 3 years and I am 45 years old. I weight the same but have
gone up about 2 sizes, so that tell me me more fat and less muscle. I think
with this knowledge, I will be able to get a hold of this menopause stuff.
Thanks again!
hey it does not appy to all
for me,it is the opposite am ..LOSING WEIGHT!!
and does not have hot flashes,or headaches, but am having chest aches.
you speak like an expert
I’m 60 I work out daily with weights and do cardio either by spin or
tennis. I am holding on to an extra 15 lbs. around my middle. I had a
complete hysterectomy years ago and I am on bioidentical hormones. My
doctor says I do not need progesterone because of hysterectomy. I eat very
healthy organic meat, veggies, and fruits. I drink mainly water and green
tea that I brew at home with spring water. I am logging what I eat and
basically what I see is I don’t eat enough. I am eating about 1000 calories
a day and burn about the same could this be the problem?
Found this very interesting .
would like you to expand on this on what type of training program and diet
can counter this
